Is this the end of Summer?

Over the last few months since Chase the Sun, the weather has been amazing. Putting in mile after mile of training using a very clever training site called Spokd, I have; rather than pushing every mile, become more focused on my rides. Achieving greater knowledge of how my body is adapting to the power elements and specifics that the software is adjusting for me on a week by week basis.
Yes, I still have my TrainingPeaks Premium account running so that I can upload training plans to my Wahoo Elemnt (Spokd doesn't do this just yet) But using both the Spokd software which tells me what zones to focus on and for how long, I then create a training program in TrainingPeaks, upload that to my Wahoo and off I go.
I have been seeing an increase in the amount of PRs I am setting and feeling stronger on longer group rides is just amazing.
But will it all come to an end now the rain has come back? I hope not.
Today, I have hit 2790 miles for the year, just 210 miles shy of my 3000 mile target last year. I am loving it. Cycling my VO2 V:Pro:Carbon:Disc that I have had since April has given me the confidence to ride for longer. Now hitting averages of 19/20 mph on 30 mile solo rides. I have been inspired and this gave me the confidence to enter the Tour of Cambridgeshire next year and really hope that finishing in the top 25% of my age group could be achievable. I know there is a lot of work to go in to it. It is known as the fastest sportive in the UK. 100 miles with less than 3000 ft of climbing. I am sure with the help of Jimmy at VO2 and the Spokd program, I can get really strong and do my best.
In the meantime, I am going to be focussing on VeloSouth in 3 weeks time. This is a more local route for me just down in West Sussex. With 4547 ft of climbing over the 100 mile closed road event I am really looking forward to this one after the disaster I had at  VeloBirmingham last year where I struggled to get round due to my summer illness and lack of training.
I guess now though I will have to get ready for winter rides in the wet and chilly conditions that I rode in this morning. I was ready, armed with my PrimalEurope Mesh vest, Spaced jersey and arm warmers, my leg warmers and gilet was great at keeping me warm.
I hope I get this 4000 mile target in the bag and concentrate on the Tour of Cambridgeshire. Next up, VeloSouth.
